ACS 2018 WINTER/SPRING Chess Enrichment Program and Club Begins Thursday, January 18

The Winter/Spring Chess Enrichment Program and Club begins on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Please go to and register TODAY. The 12-week session takes place on Thursdays and runs from 1/18 to 4/19/18. This positive enrichment program provides professional chess instruction for multiple levels of play:  
  • The Junior Kindergarten Student, for beginners interested in learning the fundamentals of chess.  The class will take place at lunch. 11:10-11:50am.
  • The Novice/Beginning Student who would like to learn the basics and beyond, including opening game theory, mating patterns and simple tactics, plus some basic history of the game. 3:40-4:40 pm.
  • The Continuing Student who enjoys playing the game and would like to improve opening game, middle game and end game ideas, continuing tactics and combinations. 3:40-4:40 pm.
  • The Competitive Tournament Student who plays in tournaments representing ACS and would like instruction for improved success through theory, tactics and strategy, plus game analysis. 3:40-5:00 pm.

12-week session #2: 1/18 (no class 1/25), 2/1, 2/8, 2/15,/2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, (no class 3/29), 4/5, 4/12, and 4/19/18.
