• The students range in age from preschool through
8th grade.
• There are 378 students enrolled.
• Each grade level (Groups K-8) has 32 students with instructional
groups ranging from 10-16.
• There is a student/teacher ratio of 11:1.
• The school strives for gender balance and diversity
in all grades.
• School sports include coeducational soccer and
track, girls' basketball and volleyball, and boys' basketball.
• School clubs include Chess Club, Chorus, Computer
Club, Drama Club, French Club, Film Club, MATHCOUNTS,
Orchestra, Science Olympiad, Student Council, Tech/Video
Club, and Yearbook.
• Our families reside in more than 30 different
communities including Aurora, Batavia, Chicago, Downers
Grove, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, LaGrange,
Naperville, Oswego, Plainfield, Western Springs, and
Wheaton.
• ACS is accredited by the Independent Schools Association
of the Central States, of which it is a member. ACS is
also a member of the National Association of Independent
Schools, the Illinois Coalition of Non-Public Schools,
the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation
and School Improvement, the Illinois Association for
Gifted Children, and the National Association for Gifted
Children.
• The school is governed by a self-perpetuating
Board of Trustees whose primary role is to hire the Head
of School, to provide oversight of the school’s
operations, and to plan for the future of the institution.
