Campus Master Planning 2024
Timeline 2024
LETTER FROM THE COMMITTEE
We are pleased to announce that The Avery Coonley School has engaged Legat Architects to create the School’s new Campus Master Plan.
The Campus Master Plan Committee consists of trustees, faculty, administrators, and parents who will work alongside Legat Architects throughout the year-long process in 2024 to shape the planning agenda and offer feedback. Under the leadership of the trustees and Dr. Montgomery, the new campus master plan will set clear planning priorities for Avery Coonley and, in conjunction with a simultaneous strategic planning process, provide a foundation for strengthening our programming, making facilities investments, and conducting future fundraising.
Sensitive to the impact of our footprint, the school is reaching out to a wide variety of constituents, including our Denburn Woods neighbors for their input. We will look for valuable feedback from every Avery Coonley constituency group over the course of our planning. Our next set of Visioning Workshops with Legat Architects will be conducted in October. At these workshops, we will collaborate on the Consider and Transform phases of the Campus Master Plan. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 15 from 2-4pm. The second will be held on Tuesday, October 22 from 6-8pm. Information on the October meetings will be available later this summer. All are welcome to attend.
Members of the ACS community are also invited to submit anonymous feedback or commentary through the link provided on this page or by emailing the Campus Master Planning Committee at campusmasterplan@averycoonley.org. We promise your thoughts and ideas will be carefully considered. Thank you in advance for your participation in this important endeavor. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at any time with any questions or concerns.
With great appreciation,
Nancy Doris ’91 and Kevin Peterson ‘69
