Admissions >> Tuition & Financial Aid

Without state or federal funding, tuition and gifts provide the vast majority of The Avery Coonley School’s operating budget. However, the School recognizes that many families have economic constraints which would prohibit their child(ren) from otherwise attending.  Therefore, ACS is dedicated to providing need-based financial aid to students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

Financial aid is available to students in Kindergarten - 8th grade based on demonstrated financial need as determined by the School’s financial aid application process.  A financial aid award can be up to 90% of tuition costs. Admission decisions and financial aid decisions are made by separate committees. Students enrolled in Full-Day Junior Kindergarten can apply for financial aid, and eligible families can receive an award up to $5,000.

When should I apply for financial aid?

If a family’s ability to attend ACS is dependent upon receiving financial aid, the family should apply for financial aid at the same time as they begin the admission application process. All materials are kept in strict confidence.

How will I know if my family is eligible for financial aid?
In order to determine eligibility for financial aid, a family must complete an application through School & Student Services (SSS). Once the file is complete, the financial aid committee reviews the application. For families who qualify, the amount of aid awarded by the School is dependent upon the School’s total available budget. The financial aid committee strives to have all award decisions made by mid-March.
