Jeff Westbrook has been a member of The Avery Coonley School faculty since 1996. He has also taught at Blair Academy (NJ), the Darlington School (GA), the University of Georgia, and two public high schools in North Carolina. During his time at ACS, Mr. Westbrook has taught Middle School Language Arts, advised both Seventh and Eighth Group, sponsored the Tech Club and Drama Club, and directed the annual variety show production and Eighth Group spring play. Mr. Westbrook has served ACS on numerous committees, including headmaster searches, and co-chaired one of the school’s previous ISACS self-studies.

Mr. Westbrook has been an active presenter at professional development conferences throughout the years. He has presented workshops on playwriting and filmmaking at the ISACS annual conference, IAGC, The Middle School Theatre Forum, the Educational Theatre Association, and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education. At the Middle School Theatre Forum, he supervised the creation of a movie as a way of teaching filmmaking to middle school drama teachers. Mr. Westbrook is a member of the Illinois Theatre Association, the Educational Theatre Association, and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.

Jeff spends his time away from ACS with his wife and two children. He also spends time each summer writing and recording songs with his band Pulpit Supply.
