Lisa Wiltz

Mrs. Wiltz joined The Avery Coonley School in 2003 after 16 years of teaching in Marquardt District #15 and is currently Co-Director of the Early School. She teaches French to the Junior Kindergarten classes and conducts parent seminars including “Why We Play in JK,” “Let’s Talk About Giftedness,” and “Factors that Impact Learning.” She is also a member of ACS’ Professional Development Committee.

Mrs. Wiltz’s professional development experience is diverse and extensive. In 2011, she presented on Balancing Development Appropriateness and Early Academics at the IAGC Annual Conference and the I Teach K! National Conference in Las Vegas. Mrs. Wiltz has presented "Looking at Play Through the Lens of Learning" and the importance of developing executive functions in young learners for the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University. Mrs. Wiltz has attended the Midwest Kindergarten Conference, Illinois Kindergarten Conference, Best Preschool Practice, IAGC, ISACS, and Everyday Math training, has held leadership positions in the Illinois Education Association and the Marquardt Educational Association, and has received a gifted endorsement through the Illinois State Board of Education..

Lisa’s time away from school is involved in the lives of her two children, both of whom have attended ACS. The Wiltz family supports a child through World Vision and recently opened their house to stray cats.
